GP# 753 on Cars and Bids
I wonder what this one will sell for. Seems like the GP's are becoming more attractive to collectors/enthusiasts. BAT and C&B seem to be pretty hit or miss depending on the people interested in the car. I'll be watching this one to see what it hammers at. I'm guessing I need to up my collector car insurance on my 147k mile GP as I think it's worth more than what I paid for it a couple years ago!
It will be interesting to see where this one lands. It seems that C&B doesn't have the same "Bring a Trailer" affect that BaT does. I guess more sensible buyers or reserves are set lower so that the cars will sell. BaT isn't afraid to not have a car me reserve and it seems that C&B has also been hooking up the highest bidder directly with the seller if the car doesn't meet reserve, which I think is nice.
$16,250 with 2.5 hours to go!
Yeah, that is true! I'm happy that the car has another opportunity to be sold, post sale! I agree that BAT brings in higher prices compared to C&B. I also own a Honda S2000, and someone on S2ki put together an awesome dataset of all the S2000's sold on BAT over the past couple years. BAT S2000 Sale Trends I wish I had the tech knowhow to do the same thing with GP's and low mileage R53's, as it would be interesting to see what the price trend is with these cars and if it's in line with COVID/inflation used car trends, or if there's an actual increase in demand for them. I'd argue that yes, there is, but by how much compared to other 'analog' car's from the late 90's early 2000's, would be something interesting to see.
In any case #0753 would have shown a lot better if they'd tried to detail it before being put up for sale!

GP 0753 is now up for sale on BaT. Some cosmetic repairs, detailing and much better photography are allowing the car to show better.

So 0753 got the old BAT effect. Sold for $21,500 plus fees on C&B a couple weeks ago, got a wash, some small maintenance, and better pics, and sold for 28K plus fees on BAT. Not a bad ROI!
I thought it might have a tough time making reserve but I was wrong. The difference between Cars &Bids and Bring a Trailer showing was night and day but the dents and paint chips were still there and for some reason a number of GP owners were very kind in comments on ownership.
