Front Brake Sensors don't fit can't reset

2011 Mini Cooper S.

I just redid my Front Brakes. Front Brake Pad sensor did activate and when I look at it, it shows metal wear line. I bought new rotors, pads and a new sensor. Replaced all the brakes but when I went to replace the front brake sensor I found that the new sensor would NOT plug back in. The replacement sensor has tiny side tabs at the 3pm and 6pm location. However, the existing sensor from Mini has those tabs at the 6pm and 9pm location. This is looking straight into the new sensor or existing Mini sensor and the house roof is on top. So I called around to some auto parts store and brought the sensor that I had and O'Reilly parts said they had one. When I got there, same thing. The tabs were in the same 3pm and 6pm location that didn't work. These guide tabs are important and help to orient the house and pins when you connect it up.

Anyway, all I had was the existing sensor so I put that back in assuming that the plastic wears off, then then metal contacts wears down and ground out on the rotor. When I watch the 1AAuto vidoes it says the wear sensor can be reused. However, now I can't reset the front brake light on the car. So does that mean the wear sensor is really more like a "fuse" and once the metal wears off, it can't be reused.

Is this the reason the light won't reset?
Why do all of these front pad wear sensor parts that are supposed to work for my car "not" work for my car?

There's a brake sensor and the abs sensor on the left front of the vehicle and the same on the right rear...
Are you sure you that you are replacing the right one. You have to make sure that you actually get it to slide in the

as well.

Yeah, you are right...there are two wires there. You might be right. The thing I was pulling out was "light blue", is that the sensor? There is very little to no space because the vendor apron is there. I removed it half way because I couldn't figure out how to remove a few things. There are these two gigantic circles.

Pretty sure the brake pad sensor is the white connector…

Light blue is wheel speed sensor, it's the other one that you want to replace for brake wear sensor. And you're correct, you can only reuse the wear sensor if they haven't set off your brake light in the dash. If your lights go off, you need to replace.

Ok, well I broke two of those darn clips anyway so I have to order new ones. It was a PITA to remove the fender skirt just to see half way up there. I guess I'm going to need to figure out how to remove the entire left side of the fender well skirt. Any videos on that?
