android bimmerlink, veepeak dongle

good day, the light on my new veepeak OBD2 BLE dongle is red, supposed to be blue ? I've managed to delete my failed attempts from my phone. on my android phone I have Bluetooth On & capable of Tethering. Do I need Android Auto ? I have it and it's set to Wireless Android Auto automatic.am I close ? Thanks

You don't need tethering and you don't need android auto. You don't use wireless android auto (whatever that is). It is just a bluetooth connection. Make sure your car is accessory mode with the dongle plugged in. You should then be able to discover the bluetooth device with Bimmerlink.

Does Android have "Airplane Mode" like an iPhone?
Turn it on.
Stops Wifi and Cellular from interfering.

I ALWAYS turn on Airplane mode when coding.

Also, battery should be fully charged, otherwise, use a trickle charger while coding.

This is crucial! Airplane mode keeps any other interruptions like a phone call etc. from disrupting your phone during coding. An interruption during the coding process could "brick" your cars ECM.
