Very nice!

Are you looking to upgrade to a new '05 MCS?

No, to be honest I won't.
I was considering an 05 MCS for a long time, with all the newly available goodies:
LSD, JCW, etc...

However, two things swayed me not to:
Every trip to dealer is a 1.5 hour one way, and I've had quite a few trips.
All things have been sorted now, but I don't want to go through that spiel again.
I am not getting the kind of gas mileage I would like to get. Mostly I think that is due to the fact that the car is soooo much fun to drive, so I step on it a lot, not good for mileage.

So, I have decided to do the tree hugger thing and get a brand new 05 Prius. I will be taking delivery of it next week.

I know I will miss the MINI tremendously, it is the most fun car I have ever owned or driven. Maybe in the future there will be another one, but for now I will try out the Prius. There is a dealer practically around the corner, and it is a very practical car. I rented one in California, and was very impressed. In mixed driving, I got exactly TWICE the mileage I am usually averaging in mixed driving with my MCS (50 vs 25)

BTW, the car is at the MINI dealer right now to get a clean bill of health and fix a few cosmetic issues (e.g. the rear speaker covers started looking rusty), and they kindly put me in a loaner 05 MC with CVT. I have to say I am very impressed with the MC / CVT it drives really nicely and is loads of fun!

Cheers,
M

Now I need to cut new flames for the Prius!

One of my dreams would also be to get a classic MINI as a fun car for weekends....
