High oil consumption, turbo or valve seals ?

My 2011 N18 is using a quart of oil every 1k miles. I am aware they use some oil. The only time I see blue smoke is after the car sits idling for a few minutes on take off it smokes. I do have oil in the intake piping so the turbo is blowing some oil but I’m not sure this is the only culprit. The car has around 80k miles on it now. So the question is could the turbo be my issue or is it more likely valve seals ? The car runs fine no issues with boost no check lights.

I also have a 2011 S N18. Currently 126k miles, no smoke issues, uses about a quart of Mobil1 0w40 oil between 5k mile oil/filter changes. From what I've been told, all turbos will blow some oil into the piping/intercooler. I did change the PCV diaphragm in the valve cover once (just for maintenance really) versus replacing the entire valve cover. You might try replacing this diaphragm (or "membrane" I think they call it), see if that helps with your oil consumption issue. Could be a cheap and easy fix. I love those!

Thanks for the tip I will look into that. My car is burning quite a bit more oil than yours unfortunately. Would be nice if it was something simple.
