R50/53 Aero Package
I am considering purchasing the factory aero package when my "S" arrives in 6-8 months. My dealer in Winston Salem NC quoted me a price of $2800 for parts and labor. What do all you Minimaniacs think about the aero kit? How many of you have it? Have you been quoted a different price? Have any of you come across a half-assed installation job? Since it is installed at the dealer I guess it doesn't show up on the build-sheet, so what kind of effect do you think the kit will have on the value of my Mini?
IMHO... I think the MCS looks better without it...
That body kits makes it look ghetto-rice.
I'd rather see you take that $2800 and put it into Colilover suspension, lighter wheels/tires, and a performance stainless exhaust.
You can always add a body kit later... but I would do mods that benefit the driver first... Plus, I bet we'll be seeing much better looking aftermarket tuner body kit offerings soon.

Good point... Just about every fiberglass kit on the market gets rock chips... Stock bumpers are urethane... rocks bounce off without chipping... with hard fiberglass, they always leave a chip.
It will end up looking like crap in 5,000 miles.
