Hey guys (and gals), long time lurker here. I had a 2004 MC40 edition several years ago. After driving it without AC in the south for way too long, I finally traded it in on a new Kia Rio in 2017 (talk about a downgrade).
I've been going back and forth for a while between an electric car and Mini Cooper S. Somehow the SE had slipped by me completely. When I realized Mini had an electric, I was sold. The range doesn't bother me. I work from home and drive maybe 100 miles a week, and have my wife's car for longer trips.
Since I couldn't find one in stock, I finally preordered mine back in September with a 1st week of November production date. Would love to get it this year, but I'm not holding my breath. The dealer said Mini told them on a call that the plants were finally opening back up to full production, so we'll see. I opted to go incognito on the "E" trim, with the exception of the asymmetrical electric wheels. I love those, and most people won't know what they mean anyway. Went classic Chili Red with the black roof and mirrors, iconic trim, and the asymm wheels.
Super excited to get mine in, and finally be back behind the wheel of a Mini!
