Electrical binding
binding
I am having a problem and looking for ideas what may be causing it. A little background. I have a 2004 R53 that I have striped down with the goal of using as a track car. I currently have a tvs900 supercharger, rmw cam, 1k injectors, and a Link ECU. I'm currently waiting for a 1.8 stoker engine. Everything worked fine before I decided to take on the daunting task of removing items. I did a full a/c delete and even removed the evaporator from the heater/ac box unit. While I had the car gutted I decided to go through the wiring harness and remove all the Harman Kardon wiring and anything related to the audio system, air bag wires, to include the sas module, front/rear washer fluid hoses, both washer revivors. I'm not sure what I may have done along the way to cause the problems I am now facing, but I am sure it's an electrical issue. This morning I took it for a drive around the block to see how it was shifting after the CAE shifter was dry adjusted and I was able to shift fine, but I was feeling a binding when turning that was never there before, and haven't done any mechanical work prior to striping. I have the service engine soon light on now. my scanner does not connect via the OBD2 port. From what I found I may have a grounding issue. Seeing if anyone with more experience has any ideas
Just an update in case someone does something similar.
I feel stupid, but you live and learn. I moved the yaw rate sensor that was factory located behind the e-brake so I don’t have to have the wire running down the middle. I bolted it to the aluminum cross brace, but not in the same position. I tested my theory that it may need to be mounted in the exact way (I mounted it at a 90 degree angle from its OEM mounting position when I screwed it to the cross beam) After mounting it exactly the way it was positioned from the factory and taking it for a spin the brakes were no longer grabbing while turning while DSC was on.
