F55/F56 Engine mount problems on 2019 Mini 4 door
Engine mount problems on 2019 Mini 4 door
I am looking at a low milage 2019 mini 4 door at a non-mini dealer here in NC.
I ran the CarFax which shows that the car has had 2 separate motor mount replacement while in mini dealerships, one in MD at 18,566 miles 2/23/21 and again in NC 4/26/21 at 18,640 miles.
The car has been at its current nonMini dealership since 5/08/21.
It is otherwise a great car with all the features I want and being offered at a good price ($23,249 final price with military discount)
But I am leery about the history of motor mount replacements at such low milage (currently 18,679).
Could someone with more mini expertise advise me about this car.
I certainly don't want to inherit a headache.
I assume the basic warranty is still good--CarFAx says the start date for the warranty was 7/10/2019 and CarFax says the basic warranty is transferable.
Thanks for any advice
Caroline

Are the part numbers the same (might not have on carfax)? It is possible one was upper which fails a *whole* lot and the other a different one. A revised part came out around October 2020. I would not let mounts stop me from buying.
Since there was only 84 miles between the motor mount replacements I suspect something wasn’t done right the first time or the part was bad. Anyways if it looks like the replacement was done correctly and it drives well (with no noise from a bad motor mount) then I wouldn’t worry about it. We have 2 MINI’s, an F55 and F56. One has 62k miles (my wife’s) and mine has 40k on it and neither have had problems with the motor mounts. Mine has been tuned by Dinan which could put more stress on the motor mounts but so far all is good.
