I have a 2006 Mini R52 (Non-S). It has the two-tone beige and black leather seats ("cordoban beige leather"). I'm looking to get them recovered, but Katzkin is asking if they are "bucket" or "sports bucket" seats. Does anyone know how to tell the difference?
Honestly, If R56 seats would fit, I'd just buy some of those off ebay, save some money and look better, but someone told me r56 front seats would not work.
I don't know about buckets vs sport buckets. Maybe look it up on RealOEM using your vin? The original owner of my R52S passed on the original window sticker for my car. It indicates "6-way adjustable sport seats (manual) w/driver and passenger height adjustment"
From what I've read the R56 front seats will fit in an R52. Its the back seats that people have said don't fit.
There are a ton of people parting Minis all over the country. Many standard leather seats sets are priced reasonably. If you like the blue leather version I have seen a set going for $50 in the past- not much interest in them, like your beige version. The Sidewalk brown and upgraded black with white piping tend to sell for some money. I found a sidewalk brown set a couple years ago and switched out the black that were in mine and feel it made a huge improvement.
A couple years ago I installed a Katskin kit on my daughter's Honda seats. It was some work. She got a set of skins from Ebay for about $300 as I recall. Nice fit though and looked much better than the old fabric seats that were in it.
What color is your car and what color seats are you looking for?

It's pepper white. I'm looking for something a little more normal looking than the beige "logans run" look (haha) - maybe just all black. I'm also considering just dying the beige panels black, since they're in pretty good condition still. But that back seat seems like it would be a chore. The R56 and R57 seats are heads and tails above the R52 stuff, though. The ones in your pic are a little hard to see, but they look really nice. Is that the "sidewalk" version?

You can enter your VIN at https://bimmer.work and find out whether your MINI was optioned with Sport Seats (Option 481).
