Hi! It looks like it is time to change the brakes on my 2013 Paceman JCW, All4, 1.8 turbo w/mt, 108 K, I noticed that the brake light came on the other day, so I looked into why the light would come on.and found out that the wear indicator sensor needed replacing, which would also mean new brakes. I found a post that tells how to access the sub menu to see which one needs replaced, front or back. I also noticed that both front and back rotors on the passenger side were worn more than the drivers side. I am wondering, depending on how close the rotor is to minimum thickness, if I can turn the rotors and not have braking issues, or if I need to replace all the rotors at the same time. I have seen that recommended by some, but that does get a little pricey. I have driven many cars with one or two bad rotors replaced or turned without issue.
Also, this has the single piston caliper, and does not look like it has the four piston design. I am also looking at getting ceramic pads, for less dust.
BTW, if this is in the wrong place, go ahead and move it...think I clicked the wrong prefix.
Hello! I just recently replaced all 4-rotors and pads on my 2013 Mini Paceman JCW last week. I went with R1-Concepts brake pads and rotors and love them. I recently had Akebono pads on the OE rotor but they would easily brake fade under strong braking.
The R1-Concepts kit is so much better in every way compared to OE and the Akebono set I previously had. No brake fade at all and there is minimal dust which is much better because I has cleaning my glossy black and silver JCW wheels.
