Clubman Downpipe?

Hello all,
I just picked up a 2012 R55 JCW and it came with an extra downpipe. The old owner installed it and decided to go back to OEM because it was to loud for him. I'm trying to make sure what company it's from. I'm guessing it's an Akrapovic Exhaust Downpipe from comparing pics. Any thoughts? Also I need to replace the rear rotors. I have the stock JCW brakes and would like to add rear slotted and drilled rotors to match the front. Any companies make rear slotted and drilled rotors for these cars?

Thanks...

Welcome to the forum. Head to our vendors section, that should help in your search. Outmotoring, way, or Detroit tuned not bad options

Nice! Love me the Clubman JCW. Looking back at your other posts, you’ve had quite the collection of different Mini models. Could you post some pics when you get a chance?

I agree, that does look like an Akropovic down pipe. I would install it and get a tune. It should be slightly louder than stock, more so on cold start cycle, but shouldn’t be intolerable. Of course, exhaust noise is subjective.

As for brake rotors, as Jason mentioned, you can check with any of the forum vendors, but I have found RockAuto to be very price competitive when it comes to rotors. Just make sure you buy the corrosion coated ones.

1000% agree spend the extra however much it is for the coating.

njaremka,
My daily is an R60 JCW that was owned by a previous NAM member. After searching for quite a while, I found an 06 Pepper white JCW slick top that is getting a nice performance engine rebuild. This clubman literally just fell into my lap, well kinda... Previous owner had the engine rebuilt with forge pistions, performance cam, upgraded intercooler etc and is ready for a tune after I decide on what CAI to upgrade with. I'm leaning towards the AEM or DDM race intake. Trying to figure out their differences. The car has some understeer so I'm also looking into a nice rear sway bar. I'm still learning and it's a little challenging at times to undestand all the differences between them. The R53 is supercharged, the R55 has the N14 and Countryman has N18... So I grab my popcorn and sit back and read the forums to educate myself. Of course theirs much BS to search thru and not everyone is as smart as they believe to be. Thanks for your and Jasons input and I know of all the vendors, my wallet is burning... I'm just trying to make sure I get the correct slotted and drilled rotors that will fit the rear JCW brakes. Often the listing does not state it will fit JCW clubmans. Is there a difference in rear rotor size for a 2012 Clubman S and JCW with the stock JCW brake kit?

If you have the front 4-pot JCW calipers, the rear rotors should be 280mm. I just finished a rear JCW conversion on my Clubman The rear S rotors are 259mm.

I have the AEM intake. I think it looks much nicer than the DDM version. Even though they both convert the OEM hood scoop to functional, the AEM has a more OEM look to it.

To help combat understeer, there are a few things you can do. First off, I would add more front camber, anywhere between -1.5° and -2.0° would be great. (the GP2 spec is -2.0°) The rear sway bar will help the car FEEL more planted, but a front sway bar will actually help the front BE more planted. The additional front camber, combined with front and rear sway bar, will make the car feel much better on the twisty bits.

Welcome that is for sure an Akrapovic Downpipe. Same one I actually run on my daily driver JCW clubman with a Milltek Exhaust and love it and the power it makes.

There are rotor options for drilled and slotted, but other than looks you aren't gaining anything.
