Where to tap for ignition power in a R56 JCW

I am installing a Valentine ! Radar detector and using a special mount made by Blend Mount that attaches the Radar Detector to the rear view mirror. They also sell a hard wire kit that has an 8' Long Power cable w/ RJ-11 connector ( to the Radar detector ) and a inline 2A Mini Blade Fuse. I would have to tuck the wire under the headliner and down along the passenger side A pillar. Once I had it down the A pillar where is the best place to tap into ignition power ? Would I be pulling the wire through the firewall to the fuse panel or is there a better place ?

At the fuse panel in the passenger footwell, either fuse F42 or F44 is a 20A fuse for the changing socket. I would use a fuse tap there for power.

Just out of curiosity would it be possible to tap for power at the overhead center console where the light switches are located ? I’ve got a manual Rearview mirror but I’ve also heard that the home link mirror plug may or may NOT be there which would be ideal for installing a Home link mirror too. What are my options ?

Sorry, but I have no idea. If it were me, I would just run the wire to the fuse panel.

I think I’ll follow your suggestion and tap the fuse panel. Thanks again for your help.
