Hello. I purchased a 05 mini convertible . It has some issues but I like working on cars. Couple of things I did are replaced tail lights with newer tail lights. Wired separate sockets to make this swap. Looks awesome. And bright big back up lights in the tail light. Old tail light New tail lights Installed 3 new sockets 1 for 1157 bulb brake and running light. 1 socket for 1156 bulb for turn .1 more socket for back up light. All have common ground so easy re wire job .
and I can change bulbs without taking tail light out😁

I used the eBay 85 dollar a pair taillights. My mini is a 05 and the back up wiring was already at each tail light because I had a small back up light in the corners of each taillight from the factory.
