Anyone running the Hella Comet 200 light kit?

Just stumbled across this item on eBay and was wondering if anyone has installed this kit yet? The seller on eBay says "not for the S" but the Hella website doesn't mention any restrictions.

Love the look of these not to mention the mounting system ( pic borrowed for the Hella site)

Thoughts????

Those are the lights that I have. I bought my 03 EB/W MCS used last year with the lights already installed in them, so I am not much help as to the installation. However, as for function, they work and look great. The covers are a hassle to take off and when you do, you need to readjust the lights a bit, but other than that, they are great.

The Hella rally lights are tied into the high beams (at least mine are) so they only go on as additional high beams. I would love to separate them out on a separate switch, but I am not an electrical guy, so....

Happy ebaying.

Thanks azuul

Wondering if you can tell me how they have attached them to the car. With the stock and some of the aftermarket lights, there is a bracket that extends through the grille. The Hella kit appears not to have that bracket, does yours have a bracket of some sort? Also even though they come on and off with the high beams, do you have an additional switch to activate them?

As for the switch function - before anyone else says it - That's the legal way they are supposed to operate. "On" only with the OEM high beams, most states have a limit of 4 on the number of forward pointing lights, and fogs count.

Thanks again, and I'll hopefully find them else where since the eBay guy wants $299.

The brackets are very similar to the factory ones, they secure at 3 points under the bonnet

2 screws, 1 clamp sort of thing.

Thanks Mikey,

I popped in to your webpage, and noticed the Cooper kit you carry. Do you know why someone would say they aren't applicable to the MCS? Is it the wieght of the xenons and the hood struts, like with the OEM lights, where they recommend you change struts?

Thanks in advance!

wouldn't say its the weight of xenons as they are available on the one & cooper.

The only reason I thought of was that the wiring loom that comes with them is designed to go to under bonnet battery that the S doesn't have

But we do have the "hot spot" for jumping the car located right next to the airbox, hmmm.

Thanks for all the info. Would you mind sending me a PM with your charge for this kit if I was to order it from you?
