Drivetrain Long-Term Wilwood Reviews?
Long-Term Wilwood Reviews?
I'm looking for some reviews by long-term users of Wilwood brakes, especially if you use them on your daily driver.
What kit do you have? How long have you had them? Pros vs Cons? Other comments?

I don't have them on a Mini, but I absolutely swear by every component I've bought from them (complete brake system from Master Cyl, to prop valve, to Caliper) for my Galaxie. The system has been in place for 3 years, and it's all very nice. Stops a 52 year old car like a 10 year old car. They're in the big three for braking system manufacturers, so I don't think you'd get a raw deal. I've personally been eyeballing their rear caliper set for my R56, and I may pull the trigger in a few months.
Ive had the wilwood 11.75 annodized grey "race" kit on the front of my mini for a few years now. I do about 10 or so track days a year and use to daily them. I dont daily drive it any more but prob have about 10,000 miles on them. I love em. The stock pad that come with them are low dust n worked great on the street but are def not for track use i got a crazy vibration after a lap or 2. So if you plan on tracking def buy a second set. Takes 2 min to swap pads on the calipers. After running aggressive pads and 2 years i need to replace rotor rings. So on pads that come with it and road use you should get quite a few years of life out of the pads and rotors. Also with the 11.75 you can run stock 16in wheel with a small 5mm spacer its tight but i think they fit and ive never had an issue. If any more questions id be glad to hepl answer any i can.
I had a set on my R56 (12.19") for about a year, before it was totaled a couple of months ago.
Mine squealed like hell. I tried three different brake pads, BP-10, EBC Red Stuff, & Hawk HP (over $250 in additional pads). The only fix was coating the entire inside of the caliper, pad backs, and any metal to metal contacts with a high quality anti squeal which needed to be reapplied often to keep them quiet. The inside of the caliper was covered with this thick blue goo (Liqui Moly).
They worked quite well, but it was not ideal for a daily driver.
My new car is a JCW R55. Not a peep from the factory Brembos.

I should probably follow up on my journey I recently installed a set of BMW performance 6-pot calipers - a poor-man's GP2 set up. Excellent braking so far, even with cheap pads.
