Motorsports 4 the masses events

these are just too fun, the most fun I've had in a car. I love autocross but hate only getting 5-6 minutes of seat time in a day. Trackdays are fun but long straights get boring, I prefer driving the mini's but often take my 135i so I'm not passed on the straights. Enter M4theM events, it's a small HPDE with autocross elements and passing zones. 10 minute sessions, 1-2 passing zones depending on venue these things are soooo mcuh fun

There was a r52 and I had my r53, we did this at caraway speedway in asheboro NC. Mini's are built for this kind of course

staff got me on video too, and my coworker getting black flagged

GoodGodamighty!

That looks like an absolute blast, thanks for sharing the video, I had fun just watching!

I would love to run in such an event but I'm a complete novice with no AX or other sanctioned motorsport experience, would I be allowed to enter?

The Franklin NC events are only 2.5 hours away from me.

This greatly appeals to me!

Welcome to SCDE or, Short Course Driving Education, our complimenting and preparatory event for future M4theM track days and Triple Threat Challenge competition.

Short Course Drivers Education (SCDE) is just what it says, it is an HPDE on a short, usually temporary course.

Course length and speeds are scaled-down in comparison to HPDE and runoff is usually plentiful and when it is not, the barriers are forgiving. Think interstate speeds, not triple digits.

Instead of concrete walls, we have simply paint, cones or soft barriers to define “out of bounds”.

The size and speeds are similar to as an autocross but it is a painted road course that only uses cones for information, not track directions.

In SCDE drivers run timed sessions of flying laps and point by overtaking is allowed.

Another big difference from autocross is you are scheduled for a total of 40 minutes of track time per half-day session instead of 4 to 6 minutes stretched out over a whole day. If you are an iron man, (or woman) you can do an all-day entry and get 1 hour and 20 minutes of track time.

There are no long, hot, mandated work sessions.

You also receive instruction on HPDE procedures and etiquette along with performance driving instruction that helps you become a better, faster driver that is well on your way to being prepared for a track day at a permanent racecourse.

Oh yes, and at most venues, it is around $125 with full-day and early-bird discounts available. Far less than a full HPDE but only a little more than an Autocross.

So what are you waiting for?|

Come join us and discover the racer in you.

The Franklin event is more like an autocross it's a smaller course with no oval. No experience is required any completely stock car is just fine I would recommend you get a helmet in advance though because using loaner helmets is kind of gross
