Removed/Re-installed tail light, now have yellow light light symbol

Hey everyone, thanks in advance. Yesterday I received a set of non-OEM "black line" tail lights and black rings. This morning I removed the original driver-side tail light and tried installing the new tail light, utilizing the stock bulb housing. After about 30+min trying to get the mounting tabs (one tab specifically) to seat properly to the body I decided to return the tail light set as the fitment is not up to my expectation. The stock tail light snaps right in on all 4 tabs.

So, I re-installed the stock tail light and bulb housing and plugged in the wiring harness. I started the car and tested the brake light and turn signal, everything worked fine and no warning light. A few hours later when I went out to pick up a package from the post office (parts for my car ), when I start my car and drive out I now see the yellow light warning sign on my tach gauge. I'm not sure why its on now and not earlier when I first tested the lights. Was I supposed to disconnect the battery before changing the tail light? I don't think I plugged in the wiring harness incorrectly, I believe it only goes in one way. I'm going to take it out and reconnect it later tonight and try again.

If anyone has any advice it's greatly appreciated.

Did you re-check your tail-lights to see if one wasn't working after the warning lamp appeared? I just did a similar job on my left rear tail-light assembly and since i re-installed it, i occasionally get the 'bulb-out' warning. I simply go and give the tail-light a whack and on it comes. I'll fix it one of these days....

So I had a yellow triangle on mine after replacing the license plate bulbs, but I found that the top banner on the Nav screen said short detected on license plate bulbs. So I started to pull on the wires a little more to the license plate bulbs and sure enough there was some worn through insulation on the wire. I fixed that and unfortunately the problem stayed. Found out that once the BCM or whatever module it is in the footwell will store that it has seen a short and not release the fault once its fixed without being reset (MIni probably wants you to go to the dealer). I ended up buying a Carly and it was really simple to reset it.

Yeah, I rechecked everything again and found that for some reason my reverse bulb was not working. To confirm that the bulb was out, I switched the it with the lower brake bulb. Went to Autozone and bought a replacement and installed it, all good with no warnings.

The next morning I went out and took a hard sweeping corner and when exiting the corner the lamp warning came up again. Found out the top brake bulb (same tail light) had now gone out. Replaced it with the second bulb from the package I bought the day before. All good now.
