I have an F57 with the H/K audio system. The rear speakers weren't working, so I pulled it out to take a look. Sure enough it 'looks' like there's a disconnected wire. There's a wire from the tweeter (yellow one below) leading to a blue connector. Within the bodywork, there's another wire - although not yellow - with what looks like the same connector. It 'appears' as if both should mate together, but I can't for the life of me figure out how they mate. After 30 minutes of twisting, turning and pressing I started searching to see if both fit elsewhere, but can see no other connectors available.
It was a pain to get the trim panel off, so I'm not putting the car back together until I've figured it out - or I give up and splice the wires together!
So help! Do these fit together, if so can you explain in words of 1 syllable or less for me!!
Close up of both - but can't fit them together. Wire on left runs to tweeter, wire on right - different color, same connector - is in bodywork.
On the F60 H/K system, the tweeter cable plugs directly into the midrange speaker. In fact, there are two cables that go into the midrange speaker: the tweeter and the cable for the midrange. Have you checked the midrange speaker (assuming it hasn't been upgraded)?
Aha - lightbulb moment, suddenly it's all clear. I looked at the midrange and saw 2 tiny recesses, one for each of the blue plugs. Put them in and 'boom'. Thanks a ton KindaCoolDad!
