I am going to be replacing my original run flat tires which I run from Mid-April to Mid-November. I am thinking about getting the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.
I’m running them on my JCW OEM 18” Wheels and I’m Super Happy with them! Got them at CostCo as they were cheaper than TireRack and they warranty the tires the same as TireRack, plus there was a $70.00 rebate added to the final total. One thing I do is that I buy an extra tire and wheel and that is my spare in case of flats or damage. Also, if your running 18” wheels you can go to a 215/40/18 vs 205/40/18 as there’s enough room to fit. Excellent way to keep ahead of mishaps. Enjoy, Jose
I would go to Tire Rack and watch their comparison videos (showing wet performance, dry performance, slalom performance, stopping, etc.) . Then I would select the lightest tire that meet your requirements.. Individual tire brands can vary in weight from 18 lbs to 23 lbs.per tire. The less unsprung weight you have the better handling and more whp and whltq you will get..
My choice would be:
P Zero Nero GT - Size: 205/45R17
When it comes time to replace my Conti Extreme contacts, this is the tire I will choose. With the aftermarket wheels I have and these tires, I dropped 32 lbs of unsprung weight compared to the stock wheels and tires that came on the car.. The net gain in performance was +10WHP and +10 WTQ.
