Rear Sway Bar

Does anyone know the size of the rear swaybar on an R52? I have a JCW swaybar and I’m wondering if it will fit the R52.

I’m pretty sure all the rear sway bars are interchangeable on gen1 and gen2. I just swapped out my rear sway bar on my 09 R55s with an 05 R50. Mine stock one was 17mm where the stock one on a r50 is 16 mm, on my R55s I’m now running the hotckins 25.5 mm, this was on the R50 for years with no issues. If you really need the piece of mind, go to ECS tuning website and search the rear sway bars, they will show capability across what models.

I believe the stock was 16mm and if you got sport suspension, then it was 17mm.

How big is the JCW?. My 52 is a cooper car so I'm assuming I'm GTG in the suspension and brake department?

All the R52 S and R52 JCW had a 17mm rear sway bar. So changing to one from a JCW wouldn't be any difference.

Go with an aftermarket rear bar as that is going to be real bang for the buck as it is the best suspension mod you can do.

Yeah get a 19mm (solid) rear bar and you'll love it right away. I did that with my 2007 MCS, from WMW. Cheap.
