Yep, a dog almost killed my Mini, this last December while I was driving home from work a dog ran out in front of my car, I was going about 50 mph and I hit it right at the front corner of my car right at the headlight. I took it to a body shop and after they did the deep dive into the damage and they told me what the cost to repair it was I was 90% sure that my insurance would total my car. The amount to repair my car submitted to my insurance company was $5,922.83, when I heard that I really thought that they would total it, but I was lucky, I should be getting her back today,
In my wildest dreams I never thought a dog that was maybe 30lbs could wreck so much havoc on my car, but really sucked that night was about 5 minutes after the owner of the dog showed up, she was absolutely devastated, as would I have been, I'm a dog owner so I know how she felt, it was not a good night for me.
So, a word of wisdom, don't hit anything in your Mini.

Does not take much with any car, family had a Hyundai and lifted truck doing like 15 mph into a parking lot totaled it. Bumped the hood and took off the front bumper. Guy did not even know he hit it.

A large Racoon hit the front bumper of a friends honda fit at 50 mph and it pretty much totaled it. Insurance companies are easy to total cars today.

 

Poor Fido paid the price for having an ****** for an owner.....

Were me, I'd have animal control track down the owner and go after their homeowners ins policy. As it stands now your on the hook for any points against your policy absent an insurance company for your company to go after....
