Navigation & Audio Nav dvd
Nav dvd
Hi all! I've got a 2005 Cooper S convertible with the NAV option... a while ago she got caught in a small flood and the DVD player and DVD were destroyed. I've been trying to track down replacements with no luck. Does anyone know where i can get a copy of the original DVD and a Player?
You might check with Dustin at Allmag. I see R56 inventory but I bet he can track down a R53 unit https://www.allmagautoparts.com/coll...io-radio-parts
If same drive as the mk4 e46 nav drive, get one of those used.
You can burn your own DVD. There hasn’t been any new nav maps in years and years for the mk4 dvd system.
Beware many on eBay, including one prominent seller who prominently rails against fake burned discs... sells fake burned discs.
So only pay accordingly.
I forget if it is dvd-r or dvd+r that lasts. Both work, One of them dies from heat after 4-6 weeks, the other I’ve had in my e46 for 5 years in 100+ degree heat and still works.

Thanks

I think the last version was 2015 or 2016, and 2009 was the last version to have the entire US on one disc which might only really be an issue if you frequently drove back and forth over the dividing lines.
Not sure if there are two different versions for the MINI, but BMW discs come in a high version, and CCC(?). I think only the high version works with the 1st gen MINI NAV’s. I bought a 2009 BMW and it works fine. I’ve read the only difference between the two brands of disc are the points of interest shows BMW dealers instead of MINI dealers.
There is also a firmware update disc that used to be available new from MINI for around $8 which included automatically closing the on screen safety warning after 15-30 seconds instead of requiring a button press every time.

I coded that stuff out on my e46. There’s an app for that specifically, that uses the standard Edibas cable. Firmware 4.100 was the last version, also on the web, can burn to cd. My oldest kid owns it now so I don’t have access to it anymore to pull the disc amd look for you.
