Hello, new to forum, have some questions like every noob!

Bought a 05 mini S, needs the standard stuff, cps o ring, supercharger oil, might as well do water pump when in there, was going to do control arm bushes with poly ones, thoughts? Motor mounts, serpentine belt, idler, do tensioner?oil change manual trans flush, brake fluid flush, filters, 02 sensors, recommend brand? Oil pan gasket, plugs tires are newer, brake pads good, stock exhaust is rusty have jc air box up front was going to do jc cat back exhaust, don’t want it too loud or droning while driving. LMK if anything else I should be doing when this far apart?

New ride
Best source for all this ? I’m in Ohio. I know this is a Ton of questions, thanks all in advance.

welcome from Cincinnati. ECStuning.Com is in wadsworth ohio and I typically get stuff from them in 2 days. Waymotorworks.com is in Atlanta and same thing for them. I personally have never ordered from fcpeuro.com but others have because of the lifetime warranty so might be worth a look. Where about s in Ohio, I’m guessing up north somewhere, I think I might have ran across that one on Craigslist maybe Cleveland, I might be looking for an 05 or 06 s or jcw.

I don’t know how close to summit racing you are, but I do know a gentleman that lives up that way and might have a mini or 2 in his fleet. Look up some of the post from Colinmini here, you might see some of us carving up the dragon.

Well good news is Wadsworth and Summit are about an hour away, so not too far! Are the purple poly bushings the best choice for replacement control arm bushings?

Colin’s red racer50 that he recently sold and my black r55.

He has owned this for 15 years and has it setup for driving the ***** out of the dragon and other twisties. Wait till you guys see the upgrade. I can’t wait for dragon time and his new to him baby.

I have a different platform so I’m not going to be of too much help, but this guy above might be able to point you in the right direction. You’ll be able to send PMs in a couple of days.

Unless it's leaking....I would not mess with the SC oil. You have a much better chance of getting the new oil contaminated and wearing out the bearings by messing with it. I have 188K miles on my JCW SC...been running a 17% pulling making 16psi boost for the last 11 years, and it's still running great.

That being said.....if it's leaking, go ahead and service it with new seals/gaskets, and the proper GM synthetic SC oil.

Partsgeek.com and RockAuto.com are also great sources for parts. Plus, they're reasonably priced!

Welcome. If you’re at it,change everything you can. When I bought mine, I installed every powerflex bushing available, except the engine mount bushings. I replaced all three engine mount bushings with vibra-technics. I also replaced all gaskets, seals, and hoses. Check your axle boots, I replaced both my axles too because the boots were split.

Looks nice, BTW.

Yes that’s the one I bought. Previous owner didn’t fix much, put on tires and brakes, needs all the stuff I listed, runs and drives good, needs skid plate, misc fasteners and of course the drivers seat is stuck in the highest position up and I’m 6’4”! LOL

You can get parts from oreillys and have them price match rockauto. I saved about 40% on parts by doing that

Highly recommend Way Motorworks. Good prices, excellent customer service, and he's great for advice, including telling you that you don't need something, even though he might sell it. He works on these cars too, and provides excellent service. Plus, you're supporting a small business.

Your list is good, just keep researching to figure out what you want to do to make the car yours.

Looks like you did well right out of the gate! Enjoy!

Not sure if anyone has checked out FCP Euro......but I buy lots of parts from them for my BMW 335i. EVERYTHING that sell has a lifetime warranty on it....EVERYTHING. You buy a set of spark plugs, when they need replaced, buy a set of new ones and send the old ones back.....you get your money back for them. Buy an oil filter from them......when it comes time to change it, buy another one from them and return your old one......they give you money back for the one you returned. Sounds odd as hell....but it works. I've done it on coil packs at other items. And their prices are really good. I've even heard of people packaging up and returning their oil for money for a refund...but that sounds like a royal pain in the butt, and you still have to pay shipping to get it back to them.

I also like Way Motorworks and ECS Tunning....all great places to by stuff from.
