Hi guys
a friend would like to build a R53 turbo with a basic mini cooper .
he would like to put in it a R53 170hp CPU.
Will it work ? With right VIN and EWS match of course
I think you'd be better off using an aftermarket drop-in ECU like the one from Link, because you're going to have to put bigger injectors in & completely re-tune it. The stock map won't work, I guarantee it!
We steel have injector and bytetronik for the map , and I am the " map tuner "
1320mini build mini turbo with OEM ecu so .....
a link ECU is almost 1000$ , to mutch ...
The ECU swap will work as long as it's programmed to the VIN and keys. I have a stock 2004 ECU with a loaded Dinan Stage 1 tune I'll let go for $100 + shipping if you're interested. This tune bumps the stock 163hp to 175hp.
