Few questions about Minis (3rd gen specifically?)

Hello everyone,

I have a F60 and was just wondering about some options. I do have Bimmercode and have changed a few things so I'm not sure if that messed up anything regarding some of these questions.

Question 1: Is there an option to so that the heated seats will automatically turn on? Our van does it once it gets to be so cold outside and I was just wondering if this has a similar feature.

Question 2: When I hit the unlock button, or open the door, the Accessory power doesn't automatically turn on. Is this normal? I drove a friends F54 Clubman and once you open the doors you can select your seat position via the Side Button thing which would be nice since my wife is super short and I have a hard time getting in to turn on the car and adjust the setting.

Question 3: Does anyone know of any remote start options? It seems like there aren't very many, if any options.

Question 4: Do I have to program my own service reminders or does the car automatically come up with those numbers? It says service in 1600 miles but I'm not sure if that was a setting from the dealer or the car talking.

Thanks for answering my questions!! Have a nice day.

Regarding #2, your F60 has then power/memory seats, right? If so, then there should be an option in the settings to have the seats recall the last position with each key fob. Meaning, if your wife unlocks the car with her fob, the seat will return to her last seating position. If you unlock the car with your key fob, the seat will return to your last seating position. This is in addition to the memory buttons (which should work without turning the car on, you just have to hold the respective button, 1 or 2).

Thank you for your reply! I had no idea that each fob could be "programmed" like that. We've noticed that sometimes, seemingly random, the seat positions and things would change! This makes sense now haha.

Glad I could help! There are a number of settings that are saved to the active profile and key fob (power seats, mirrors, climate control, radio, navigation, etc., etc., etc.). You can also have the Profile screen pop up each time the car is started so you can select a profile (e.g., if your wife is driving and then you decide to drive with her key). Give your owner’s manual a read and you’ll see this and all the other cool things your MINI can do!!
