Help with centering exhaust tip on one-sided exhaust

So, the Dinan exhaust on my mini S only has one muffler. The exhaust tip does not sit in the cutout evenly, it is pulled to the side that has the muffler. I know it's popular to delete one side of the exhaust so I am asking other people, that removed one side, how did you even up the exhaust tip in the opening? There is only the doughnut and the standard mount. The mount does not help with side-to-side positioning so the doughnut is free to pull the exhaust toward the passenger side of the car.
