2020 F54 JCW Calipers vs. 2019 or earlier

Hi, all.

I'm about to take delivery of a 2020 JCW Clubman, and I've found a used set of the JCW 526 Black Radial Spoke wheels. Have any of the clearances changed from earlier years? In other words, are these wheels going to fit the 2020 with no interference issues?

I've searched all over but I can't seem to find an answer to this question.

Thanks,

-Rob

What is the offset on the current wheels as compared to the JCW 526? That is all you really have to worry about.

Should be no problem. The ET is 57 which clears the big brake kit and rim width is 8” which is perfect for the 225 tire, max 235. Assuming you’re plus sizing and need tires, just note that you will run a ~3% smaller diameter on a 225 than 235 if you decide for something wider. But the side wall will be a couple mm taller on a 235, will soften the ride, fill out the wheel well, but add a little weight. Runflats with 35 profile tires will knock out fillings anywhere outside of Germany. At least if there is any potential rubbing you can get 7-10mm spacers and push it out so it’s more flush. IMHO, I have 19”x 7.5” and 225 tires...looks and rides the way I wanted.

As the bard says, “Aye, there’s the rub.”

I have neither the Clubbie nor have I purchased the rims. I’m trying to figure it out before I make an expensive mistake.

Thanks for that. Sounds like they’ve kept the same calipers. I guess the GP3 is the only model they’ve changed the calipers on (iron vs aluminum).

And I agree, there’s no way I’m going with runflats, period. I’m going to wear out the summer tires on the 18” rims, and then put Conti DWS06’s on there for the few months we have to worry about wintery precip. I’m planning on putting Michelin Pilot Super Sports (or similar) on the 19s - 235/35 - and carrying a “mighty donut” spare in the back for longer trips.

Appreciate the feedback!

The 2020 Calipers and Rotors are bigger than the 2019 JCW calipers but I do not believe that has impacted the offset needs. On my 2017 I has swapped JCW brakes on the fronts and the 2020's look and feel very different.

Thanks for the reply. I now have the vehicle and the rotors look quite a bit bigger than my last JCW. I'll swap one of the wheels over here shortly as a test. I would think if the 18" stock wheels are OK, that these should be as well. I also notice the rear rotors are *quite* a bit bigger than previously. (And I'm not complaining...)

Front rotors are 360x30 vs. the previous 335x30, this will impact what wheels fit, but that doesn’t mean that the prior years shocks wheels won’t fit.
