R53 facelift homelink mirror retrofit
ANyone retrofit a homelink mirror in a facelift car? The connector is correct but the car harness only has 4 wires
car harness has
1 yellow red stripe
2 green with blue stripe
3 empty
4 empty
5 empty
6 empty
7 empty
8 red with yellow stripe
9 empty
10 brown
Meanwhile the mirror has 9 wires
1 grey
2 purple
3 red
4 white
5 black
6 white
7 black
8 orange
9 empty
10 brown
car harness has

I am playing with this also. Really trying to add the rain sensor. I actually cut the harness to the car that had the homelink. It has
5 wires versus 4. And yes there are nine wires (well more then 5) going to that plug in the mirror itself. My mirror is on a convertible with manaul adjustment (no auto dip). I looked the extra wire up and it has nothing to
do with the homelink. I appears to be a auto dip function when you are backing up (or the wire appears to go to the backup sensor).
The rain sensor has 4 wires. Right now I am on hold with this car. Have another convertible to work on. But plan to attach that wire to
where it belongs at some point'

I have the homelink working, still no luck on the auto dim, I'm down to one wire left and that is the black wires on the mirror side of the harness, they are tied together and they go to the auto dim mirror

The auto dim function is built into the mirror and does not need a signal from the car to dim, just power.
It does need the reverse signal to undim when reversing though.

yes keyless works fine, I did not even have to re-pair the keys
