Home made shift ****

Here is my homemade shift **** made from a Stainless Steel bal hitch.
You just need a metal lathe.

Looks great Did you make it for the OE shifter or an aftermarket lever? How is it attached to the lever? 'Cause I was thinking of making my own too!!

DIY ****

It is attached to a B&M Short Shifter. Again I have a Whalen, but I wanted to see if my brother-in-law and I could make one out of a Stainless Steel Ball hitch. He just machined this for me and Drilled and tapped to match the **** from the B&M.

I have driven this DIY **** and it feels solid. I will try the whalen and see which one I like. I choose the largest ball hitch I could find. I assume that the smaller ones are similar in feel to the Whalen.

The only difficulty in making this DIY **** was to "chuck" it up correctly and securely. If you have a metal lathe, you can make your own out of Billet AL or Stainless.

This was just an experiment. Not bad results. I am planning on have the 6 speed shift pattern machined in soon.

Heck of a nice job. Would be interested in the final weight of it. Is it just threaded on and if so how do you secure it in place?

DIY ****

Not sure of the weight, but it is heavier than my Whalen. It is screwed on and we created a pocket and landing so that the you simply tighten until the landing hits the collar of the B&M shifter.
