R56 2007 Base - Front Caliper Rebuild seals?
2007 Base - Front Caliper Rebuild seals?
I want to rebuild the front calipers on my R56. The passenger side caliper keeps sticking. I've pushed it out (most of the way) and cleaned/lubed it a couple times now which just temporarily stops it from sticking. I can't find the seals for the life of me. Not ones that I am 100% sure are right. I found Raybestos WK2020 on Amazon but it has 294mm rotor in the notes. Are the calipers the same on models with 280mm vs 294mm rotors? I'm assuming the 294mm rotors are the Cooper S?
Good question - ECS (our host) should be able to point you in the right direction. Let us know what you find. Those Wisconsin winters must be really tough on the caliper pistons. I had a Volvo once that did the same thing. For some reason the caliper pistons just turned to rust.

I decided to just order some rebuilt calipers for the front. I really don't want to mess with rebuilding them and by the time I buy new pistons and seals I could have almost bought one of the calipers...
