Hello All,
I am finishing my work on the Mini and have a small issue. The car is back together but I have a part I don't remember where it resides. I hope someone can lend a hand and point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.
Dan
Okay. I was able to find the location for this piece. I have an EVAP error: "EVAP System Purge Control Valve "A" Circuit Open".
I was removing the stock air box to check all the connections near the Intake Manifold when I found the location. So two questions:
1) Does anyone know what this part does? I see no reason for it's placement or use. I am stumped.
2) As I had no evap error before teardown and it's there now, where should I start? I plan on checking voltage for the connection near the charcoal canister but not sure where to go after that.
njaremka,
I thought that as well but I remembered taking it off a part but no wires were around.
Due to my EVAP error I checked out the Bentley manual (page 130-32) and saw the clip on the Throttle Body.
So I removed the Intake off the N-14 to look at the location of this clip but also the vacuum / evap routing.
The clip fits into a slot in the housing of the bottom, external surface of the throttle body.
The slot has no function I can see other than to hold this clip. No orifices to cover or section to hold in place. Just a slot.
