My Mini was in for some service recently (shout out to the team at Northwest Mini for their great service) and I was given a 2020 Cooper S as a loaner car.
It is an awesome car. Feels solid, tight, responsive. There is so much tech jammed in to new cars these days I do find their atmosphere to be a bit antiseptic. I also find that most Infotainment systems to loaded with unneeded functions and screens that are annoying.
The driving experience was impeccable. There are 20+ miles of highway with 15 miles of curvy country roads between my place and the dealer. So even while working at home I got to wind it out a little bit. The car is joy on wheels.
When I got back into my 2012 R60 though, I appreciated it so much. It's a sophisticated car but it feels so much more analog and personal. I loved the Cooper S but the experience made me appreciate my R60 even more.
Enjoy your ride everyone. Rule #1 in a sea of Minis
