So I had to take the timing cover off to maybe get the belt tensioner bolt that snapped in half. I took it off and...

1) Yet another piece of the broken chain guide fell out, so not a lost cause and...
2) Am wondering if the cover has stress fractures? from over tightening bolts...

Whats up with this thing? Does this look normal for a 16 year old cover?

 

Just casting marks...much like inside of oil pan...no worries!!

 

This was my hope; now to get that dang bolt out! You can see it in the upper left corner of the 2nd photo.
