ECS Tuning is a Joke.....

I'm looking for a parts supplier..... Mini , BMW and Audi. Who do you all use? I use to use ECS tuning for everything but their endless incompetence has left me wishing I never wrenched on cars. Who have you folks used with success?

Places I've had the best luck with so far........

E-Bay places from China, Lithuania
Amazon suppliers.

Any input is appreciated.

I have dealt with ECS for the last 6 years and never had a problem. If you're having a problem with them you should discuss with Mike from ECS.

That's funny. Mike from ECS just hung up on me.. He told me with confidence my package would arrive by end of business today. I attempted to explain that it wasn't going to and why. (this has happened before with them now that I live in a rural area) He hung up on me. The parts I ordered will now be in limbo unless I drive to a UPS facility or a Fed Ex Facility because the are attempting to deliver to USPS for final delivery of whom only deliver to P O Boxes. ECS will not take information to a PO box for delivery.

If I order off E- bay or Amazon they can actually find my residence. Or at least my PO box. Either which is preferable than sending off to limbo and leaving my customers pissed off because I can't finish a project.

Again. ECS is a JOKE (punch line included in answer)

Ive heard good things about FCP and Turner. I really do like e-bay and the lithuania suppliers I have worked with. I'm looking for others.

Yep, I am here. You can always shoot me a PM if you have an issue or problem. I am also here to provide help and advice on fixes. I am not the same Mike that answers the sale phone. Just forum Mike. Send over your order info.

FCP Euro. They are my go-to for OEM parts. They ship quick, have competitive pricing and a life time replacement on all parts including fluids.

For performance parts I go directly to the manufacture (Ireland Engineering, VIP, Powerflex, etc) and sometimes to Way Motor Works for things that I absolutely cannot get anywhere else (WMW turbo blanket, KW V2, etc).

Also, keep in mind that ECS now owns Pelican Parts, Bav Auto and Turner Motorsport. I've bought from Bav and Turner before, but since ECS acquired them I have moved 100% to FCP Euro. I like to have options, not ten different retailers that are all the same guy.

Turner is now owned by ECS. ECS canned everyone and moved 99% of Turner to Ohio.

More details here lol:

If they are owned by 4WD parts as well I swear to the lord above I will stop wrenching. Ive got stories upon stories of how they have messed with my wages.
I just pulled parts at a German salvage yard and they said they do bulk with FCP and were quite happy.
It's a different world these days. I certainly don't wish anything bad on anyone.
I like Way Motor Works but 1300 on a clutch kit / fly wheel and i am still in pain. Still can't complain though. The called to make sure where it should go to.

Mike, PM sent......

I guess I am confused. You provide the address for delivery, right? ECS ships stuff like everyone else using the same carriers. Why would theirs be handled differently?

Part of my business deals with shipping products to customers. We ship fresh food products overnight.

We get orders out on time, its upto FedEx to do their part.

When theres a problem, we have our customers backs but we arent magicians. People want their food, they dont understand that we are NOT the shipping company.

From your rundown, it sounds like your beef is with the shipping company and not ECS.

FWIW: I been ordering from ECS for many many years. Not a single problem. I wish they had Domestic and Import parts along with the Euro stuff :-)

Agree with both of the above. This transfer to USPS happens all the time and with many companies selling products online (has nothing to do with those companies and is entirely on the shipper). Just yesterday, my wife was tracking a package that was supposed to arrive "by end of day" according to the FedEx tracking info. After checking the front porch at 8:30 last night she checked her FedEx tracking page again and it now indicates that the package has been transferred to USPS for final delivery.

Been an ECS Tuning customer for like 6yrs now owning a 1st gen MINI....My experience has been quite the opposite....Always prompt assistance and response via email and not just by customer service reps, but customer service reps who actually have one or two and in one case I think 3 MINI's at home....They have a direct conduit to a MINI dealer and offer better prices than the dealership parts counters.....

Not sure why the rant here but maybe it's misplaced fustration on your part.

I give ECS Tuning a grade of A++ ............and I'm a retired MINI Parts Advisor.....

I prefer to support small shops over big businesses, I buy from Detroit Tuned, Helix, RMW, Seven Mini Parts, etc. Personal preference I guess. I think I've ordered from WMW before, I have the sticker on my toolbox, but I couldn't tell you what I ordered. No complaints there. Never used AllMag, their prices for junkyard parts are wild in my opinion. The junkyard that is down the road from my house charges $1 to get in, usually I can walk out with a pile of MINI parts for $30.

Last time I had a question, Chad answered the phone and spent a couple minutes clarifying the issues for me, and he knows his ****. So for that I owe him a $2 Tech Tip next time I order parts, and I'll try to get stuff from him first. Plus I used his tool rental when put an ATI damper on my car and it was fantastic.

I am fairly new to the Mini world and have made a few purchases with ECS, the service has been terrific, however the shipping has been slow (I live in Montreal) but that is not the fault of ECS, the current Covid 19 situation has made mail service difficult. I am disappointed to hear that you were hung up on but that I feel would be the exception and not the norm.

In my nearly 14 years of Mini ownership, I've bought parts from ECS Tuning, MiniMania, Moss Mini (which is now Moss Motors, and doesn't sell BMW Mini parts anymore), OutMotoring, RockAuto, Pelican Parts, Way Motor Works, and most recently AllMag (I forget where I bought my Rota RB wheels though). Out of all of those vendors, only OutMotoring had an issue, and it was due to them accidentally sending me Motor Oil instead of Transmission Oil. I sent it back, and got what I ordered a few days later without issue. Otherwise, no concerns with any of the vendors, an overall great service on all of them I've dealt with.

Just cancelled an order from ECS. On chat, was told a deal $50 shipping and email him when I checked the size ordered. Did that, no reply 2 days. Ordered online and my state sales tax was higher than it was suppose to be. Shipping, $150. Was told when it would ship. Was told that it was ready to go and it would that day. Next day, same story. Next day, same story again. Cancelled. No more ECS.

Me personally i haven't really had an issue with ECS. My last order the where out of OEM Mini oil filters, so i called up to switch over to the purflux one, per Mini Mike. Matt answered the phone, he seemed rushed and as if he didnt want to be on the phone, but he did get it switched over. I noticed that he did pick the one without copper crush washer, so i called back in, and was told he had left for the day already and was sent to his VM. Well i called the next morning and Matt actually answered the phone, with the same rushed, i dont want to be on the phone voice, and we got it all squared away within a minute. Order was shipped out that day and at my door 2 days later by noon. Matt's phone manors have been my only issue with ECS. Side note, my boss orders parts for his VW's from them all the time and usually has them within 2 days as well, I live in Cincinnati, Boss lives in Florence, Ky.
