Can you fit an "S" Gearbox to a non-S?

I have an R56 Cooper (non-S) which Im turning into a race car. I need to find a way to fit an LSD but from all of my searches I can't find anyone who makes one for the Cooper.

My only other option it seems is to fit an S gearbox to my Cooper. Has anyone done this who can tell me whats involved please?

Any advice would be appreciated

Did you have any luck with the S gearbox into a non-S? I've lost 2nd gear recently in my 09 and it seems like the S gearbox is more plentiful.

I would imagine you'll need a clutch, flywheel, axles, trans. maybe slave cylinder. I have seen a 6 speed conversion done on a R50.

I have just put an S 6speed in an R56 2011 Cooper. S clutch and dual mass flywheel were added but my issue is with the axles. Driver side is a new S axle which looks like it'll work ok. Passenger side is a different story. The Cooper axle won't engage with the S trannie - the end seems a millimeter too big in diameter - and the S axle, when engaged in the trannie, is an inch off at the mount on the aft side of the motor.
Were you able to get the S trannie to work in the Cooper? Did the right side axle work out?

I gave up on my "Non-to-S" trans swap. I rode the clutch without 2nd gear long enough(5k miles) for it to start to slip in all gears except 1st. I'm in progress with a K-swap. In progress= battery is disconnected, searching for a donor honda.
