I have opened up the exhaust, short open air intake on my 2016 F56 B36, I have access to a BMW laptop and have been able to read and clear faults. Can I use this to up the boost via coding?

 

I don't think that's possible, but correct me if I"m wrong. Based on the way I understand how this works, the wastegate is computer controlled and runs on duty cycle method. And unless you get a tune where boost can be "allowed to raise to a new limit", you won't be able to manually or even code in a new boost level. The current DME operation is not of legacy method where you get to manipulate the maps on your own. The entire combustion and power output is run under a target-based setting and the DME manages all interactions through comms amongst different components to achieve those targets.

 

So then I am to either get the ECU "tuned" to my set up. Get a piggy back like JB+ to get more boost pressure? Time to do more research one this.
