first thank you for your great site. I have just bought a 09 clubman base model. I has sat for for a long while. when i put the battery in I hear a noise that sounds like a pump running around the steering area under the hood. it continues for sometime. I have never listened to see how long because i dont want battery to drain.
the question is this normal and will shut off in a timely manner?

 

That pump shouldn't run when the car is off.....if it does, there is something wrong. That being said, i have never seen an R56 variant do that. i would be wanting to look at the signal wires and see if something is "waking" it up
