I think that, from what I've read at least, the plasma booster is a no-no. That's why M7 no longer sells them. Randy Webb quotes the Pilo coil pack as
" This is the best coil upgrade possible for the MINI, and can sometimes cure such small things as the dreaded "stumble". "

I had one for 30,000 and everything was OK. No real noticeable difference in performance, but not a lot of money spent, either. Then I started missing a little under aggressive acceleration and within about 500 miles a lot of missing. I put the stock one back on and problem resolved.

Check sumwon, too. He tossed his. Verdict? Save the bucks.

Those things should be collector's items now! Any idea why M7 discontinued their flagship product?

yea, toss the "Plasma Booster", unless you're a Krell worshipper and need blue lights

The higher voltage coil-pack, though, is very helpful to keep a "pulley'd" car from misfiring.

Just the opposite for me! I'm 15% pullied and the misfires came with the 40,000 volt coil, not the stock 36,000 volt unit.

perhaps a bad unit - The Screamin' Deamon seems to have higher-than-normal fallout

I'm pretty sure the Screamin' Deamon and the Pilo are the exact same product, just re-badged.

My Pilo just went on a couple weeks ago, and has improved throttle response and has diminished a 3000-4500 rpm flatspot in my power band. Every bit worth the $75.

Krell took their name from an old sci-fi movie: "We are Krell, the Master Race"
