F56 Brake pads for track and daily driving
F56 Brake pads for track and daily driving
I'm close to the point where my OEM JCW brake pads on my F56 need to be replaced. I do track days (not autox) generally 1x a month, sometimes more. My MCS is also my daily driver. So some question for you F56 owners who track:
- What pads do you use?
- Do you have track specific pads? If so, are your daily driving pads from the same manufacturer as the track pads?
- Do you use the sound dampening clips that come with the front pads?
Pretty much I'm looking for recommendations and advice from those of you who have experience in this arena. Thanks for any help!!

Honestly the best thing to do is actually change the pads for the track days. Having a pad that is a good daily pad and a good track pad would be the holy grail of pads. Trying to do that ends up with either a noisy pad on the street, or a pad that fades as the track.
The EBC Yellow is a pad that gets close, but an advanced driver that really cooks the brakes will find them fade a little after real use.

The 6 compound Gloc is also close, but we do find them a little noisy on the street, but really have good bite.

Otherwise go with EBC reds on the street

Then switch to some Gloc 8 or 10 to start for track days and build up to harder as you get faster.
