Upgrade the Brake Pads of my F56 JCW

Hi,

I'm new here and I've browsed around and haven't found a similar thread.

I want to upgrade the brake pads of my F56 JCW (my car is 2015, model 2016, and it has the JCW big brakes) and I would like to use EBC brake pads, red or yellow, on it.

Does anyone know if EBC offers these brake pads, and the part number for these?

Thanks!

JC

I checked the 2016 EBC catalog and from what I can tell it doesn't look like they have brake pads for the 3rd-generation JCW's yet

If you're looking to improve brake feel, SS braided lines would also help. I haven't done them yet to my JCW but they made a huge difference in all my other cars.

+1 on this. I installed the NM lines on mine.

How do you like them? I was thinking about getting the NM lines but I'm concerned how it will affect the Electronic Differential Lock Control. I'm afraid it might cook the brakes under aggressive cornering.

Love them. I've had no ill effects at all. Haven't tracked the car, but I have made a few runs on the Dragon since installing them. They basically give you a firmer more linear feel at the pedal. No reason for to to effect the eLSD.

Thanks folks!

I will get those stainless steel braided brake lines from NM. In fact, I was considering buying them, and with the positive feedback I've read here I will get those urgently!

Regarding the brake pads, I do not know if I can get Carbotech brake pads in Brazil, at least I do not know any dealer down here.

I was offered to change the OEM rear wheels brake rotors for a pair of Slotted Zimmermann Brake Rotors. What to you think about it?

ECS Tuning carries Zimmerman rotors. Maybe they can chime in on fitment and availability.

Here's the rotor application guide for your model, and the Carbotech listing was in a previous message. Hope this helps!

given how new the car is, SS brake lines won't do anything. most of the time you'll see those with 10 year old cars replacing the lines and IMO, only THEN do you notice a difference as the OEM lines have worn out. but new...OEM lines are just fine. i personally don't think it's worth it. i'm on OEM lines with XP10 fronts / XP8 rears and they handle very well.

I've changed the brake lines on almost all my new performance cars to SS. The pedal feel alone is well worth it. I wouldn't recommend it on carbon ceramics because they already will put you through the windshield with a tap.

BTW when changing them does one also change the fluid? If so change it to what? I've got NM SS lines on the way.

Best,
Gene
