Hello to all ... i am not new with minis used to have an r53 s 2004 sold 5 years ago then last year i bought a cooper country man f56 2019 and last month i bought an r56 2008 JCW which i enjoying very much... the car has 145k km and the engine has being rebuild, new cam chain - tensioner piston ring and bearing all bought from Bmw.... the car is running strong but i have a problem with the car idle...
the problem is when the car is on idle the rpm jumps from 800 to 1000 and the goes normal...
when we connect it to the program with get says intake manifold unmetered air
my mechanic then open the intake manifold and replace the gaskets...
when he remove the filter housing he found the intake manifold sensor cracked ...
my intake manifold sensor has the following part number: 0 261230233
my mechanic then call bmw with no luck they didn't have the sensor in stock so he found a used one from an r56 cooper s but the part number was different...0 261230135
he put it on the car and the idle problem disappeared
but when we took the car for a test drive the car lost a lot of power like it was going on safe mode...
we replace the sensor with the old one and the car power came back but the idle problem came back as well.
then i found on ebay the sensor from bosch 0261230232
sensor arrived today put it on but i didn t went from my mechanic to reset the computer code yet..

new sensor with match number and the car has the idle problem again...


does is matter that I didn’t erase the fault from the car ?
