Signs of a failing auxiliary waterpump

So what would be some signs of an auxiliary waterpump starting to fail? The reason I'm asking is due in part to the grinding like noise I'm getting from it, I don't ever recall hearing it like I do when turning the car off

So I'm thinking that what it could be is the bearing for that inner wheel/turbine thing is starting to go or already has and the somewhat grinding noise is a result

It will make a bubble noise from tiny air and the coolant(barely hear) and a high pitch whine when you shut down the car on long trips or hot days. Should not grind at all.

Ok kool.. I'm doing the oil filter housing gaskets in a few weeks along with a new radiator and the turbo coolant and oil supply lines, so I got a new Aux pump to just get it out of the way

I have been having a slight oscillation with my turbo on cold starts.. it seems brief when I get into what seems 2nd gear when I apply light pressure to the throttle, but I can push through it with heavier acceleration and then it goes away and doesn't present itself again unless say after the car has been sitting during the day at work.. I replaced the air intake pipe that connects to turbo since I heard that those crack and figured I would take that peice out of the equation.. I was going to replace the vaccum hose set up that attaches to the Watergate next when doing the oil filter housing gasket work.. could this have anything to do with the vacuum pump?

if you haven't already done the Aux Water Pump, I just got off the phone with MINI to get my footwell module checked out under extended warranty, and the tech informed me that there is a recall out for the Aux water pump! if you did already do it, might be able to get a reimbursement for the parts since it was recalled? worth calling for sure.
