Preserving/Displaying

So...now that we have all these wonderful ads and materials ....how are we all displaying them?

I'm conjuring up ways to make a wall in the garage that displays the larger items...since I can't come up with a wall size poster ...what are you all doing?

Ok since I feel I'm the ad-alcoholic.. I have six binder full of ads, brochures, etc. and I have a suitcase that has the UJ on it to carry the 'goodies" that don't fit in my binder. -pez dispenser, magic motoring ball, mints, etc.

James is the one though... I think he has two copies of each ad-one in the original magazine and then one in the binder. He also has a ton of goodies!!!!

I have a display case for all the goodies (mini MINIs, miscellaneous this n that collectibles.) I have two books chock full of stuff; one copy of each and then I have several boxes of spare stuff and whatnot.

I think the display case is what put me over the edge. Sadly it's full and the company I bought it from no longer carries it :(. One wall in my guest room/office is full of MINI stuff - set of shelves with goodies and books, several framed posters, a big calendar, hats etc. And don't get me started on the accessories... especially the purses.

People ask why my 2nd MINI is red like my first one. I just tell them, I spent too much on red stuff to match my MINI to change colors now!

My intention is to (someday) post pictures of all my stuff on my site... ah, to dream...

Binders are the obvious solution...but don't display for the casual guest the way I'd like. Still thinking of a wall display but, of course, so many of these are two sided pieces that they'd have to be available to be taken out..or would have to be framed in something clear on both sides....

Hmmm....

Hey Cathy, glad you finally found our new forum!

I have several binders with archival plastic sheets: 2 for ads, 1 for US brochures, 1 for UK, 1 for German, and one of all my official paperwork for my MINI (original window sticker, monthly statements, etc). I do try to keep a set of ads in their original magazine, but don't have duplicates of everything yet. Still looking for a good set of shelves or a display case for my various marketing items and MINI gear.

I'm designing a set of shelves for my boot to take some of my collection to meets and shows. I hope to have it finished by Spring Thing (late February).

James

We have a a bookcase with glass doors that is full of models. We have 3 binders full of ads and auto magazines pertaining to MINI stuff. Then we have an antique wooden box that is chuck full of stuff. It's all in the same area, just not very neatly displayed.... Some day we'll get around to THAT project....

Chow!

Check out Smoky4's display in the diecast thread-It's awsome!!! I've been thinking about doing something like that with the new motoring game that we got as the holiday catelogue and puting the tiny MINI that goes with it on the game board and frame it in one of those deep display frames-

While I am still trying to find some wall space for my MINI ads, here is how I displayed my Miata ads:

I also scaned my entire collection and put it all online for folks to see at:
