Heat shield: Aluminum Speed Nuts

Help:
I’d like to remove some heat shields so I can remove the exhaust manifold.
previously while swapping out my cat-back some of these speed nuts just broke of.

What are the options to replace these and hold up the heat shield?

Heat Shield nuts

Check Pelican Parts. Heat Shield Securing Nuts. They list them for both the R50 and R53

Thanks @jc130chief however it’s not the nuts I’m interested in.

The weak points on securing the heat shield are those dumb screws that are attached to the car via friction welds.

It’s the friction welded screws that popped of the body and I’ve got only a few places now to secure the heat shield. Many folks will use JB Weld. Wondering if anyone has had a better solution (Ps: they’re near the gas tank so I’d rather not weld them)

I’ve see stud welders used for this...never actually tried it.

its a gun, pops the stud out and welds it all in one shot. If you find a good one let me know

@Anakist That seems like a great idea and the best option. Once the snow melts and temps get back to 50...I’ll go that route.

thank you for the suggestion as I this is the first time I’ve heard of “rivnuts”
