Question Jcw pro exhaust vs straight pipe

QUESTION -JCW pro exhaust in track mode seems to be basically straight pipe from the cat back. Many folks seem to run with valve always open. If that is the best sound why not just save some money and just put a straight pipe on it? Would a straight pipe from the cat back affect warrant or trigger codes? I have a 2019 minicooper S F57.

With the valve open you do still get some exhaust gas passing through the muffler. So I wouldn't compare valve open JCW Pro exhaust to a real straight pipe.

Depends where you live and where you drive. When I travel out of state, I always plug the sending unit back in so I can damper the sound. Seen to many police cars follow the MINI in smaller towns, like they are waiting for you to sound like a Harley. They have to supplement the town's budget somehow and if you are not speeding...

Hi there, I have straight piped my JCW by removing the resonator and muffler on the stock exhaust, plus a catless downpipe. I can attest that it is very much louder than the pro exhaust.
