2015 mini total loss

Hey... wasn’t really sure where to post this.

I was in a car accident in Oct 4 and my car was determined to be a total loss. After insurance there’s about a $4k difference on the loan balance, but my GAP through Safeguard is pending.

Do y’all think I will have to pay anything out of pocket beside my deductible??? No one can give me an answer since they haven’t got the claim and it feels like this is taking forever!!!

If you have GAP insurance I don't see why you would be paying out any money. If you aren't at fault then you shouldn't be paying deductible. If you aren't on the phone with the insurance agent/company frequently you are making a mistake. Call, email, write them and demand answers and timeline. That is a long time to wait.

The purpose of paying for gap insurance is to make up any difference between car's actual value and the amount you still owe. There should be no "out of pocket" for you. The delay is likely due to the bureaucratic red tape any time insurance companies are involved.

When things are finalized, please post the out come here. Many would be interested to hear if the insurance company tries to stick you with any additional cost beyond the deductible. .
