Is there a way to disable the annoying LOW FUEL notification that appears in the tach window on my R56?

I received a citation for 65+ in a 55 zone yesterday while trying to both pay attention to navigating an unfamiliar road while also keep an eye on my speed (I'd missed a turn back a few miles, watching for indication of an upcoming return-to-route) when the dang thing kept telling me I was running low on fuel... which I was already all-too-mindful of.

I don't NEED my MINI to remind me my fuel's running low with such increasingly annoying frequency.

I DO NEED it to display MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION while I'm driving, such as my speed.

The fuel I could have bought - rather than having to pay a $140 fine - would have gone a lot farther than the 40 miles it was telling me every 15 or 20 seconds before I ran out of gas.
