Is this a decent deal

Hello. New to the forum but have a question. I found a 2006 mini S convertible for sale near me. It has 122k on it. The lady is the original owner and it was dealer maintained. She says the trans. Slips at about 30mph and the dealer said the oil pan should be replaced. I'm thinking she means the gasket. It's an automatic of course and she is asking a thousand for it. I dont know if that is a decent deal. From what I've found it seems to be but I'd like the opinion from other mini owners. Thanks for any help. Mark

The price is great but the gear box raises doubts. Were it a manual Getrag I'd say go for it without question. Other things to look at is the condition of the canvas, upholstery and suspension as in struts and bushings, front strut tower mushrooming, CV boot condition for starters. If she's kept records of service history, that would be helpful.

From what I've been able to find online the S model uses the better of the auto transmissions that were used and there are parts available to fix that trans. Much easier than the base model CVT trans they used. Not sure if that is the case or not.
