Is it possible to replace CVT transmission in a 2006 mini for a manual? Has anyone done this?

Yes...
Waymotorworks has done it in their shop....
And a few owners have....
It is very involved, but possible.

But doable if you want too keep the car longterm....just not a $$ saver vs a cvt in the short run...to many parts to buy and too many hours a labour. The swap usually uses a 6 speed S stick....so the ratios are not perfect, but better than a car with a blown tranny. A couple threads on it on this site. Waymotorworks.com lists it as a "call for price" i think....a good donor wrecked car is usually used for parts...like the tranny, cv joints, etc, computer must be reprogrammed, and lots of small parts moved, and installed....a BIG job.
But imo, a valid alternative compared to a new cvt every few years!!

Yes we have done several swaps and they work great, the biggest thing is getting all the computers right.

Where are you located? Is there an estimate of costs involved? I am in the Twin cities Minnesota.
